Primary Accountabilities

 

As the Coordinator, you will provide coordination, project management oversight, and support to a multidisciplinary team of professionals who are committed to creating and leading a culture and climate that supports the successful recruitment and retention of healthcare professionals in Nova Scotia.

 

Specifically, you will:

 

  • Provide project management support to designated projects and initiatives.
  • Develop effective working relationships across government departments and within the Office including using a facilitation approach to gather information from stakeholders.
  • Lead the coordination and preparation of correspondence and related materials on behalf of senior leadership, the Deputy Minister and/or Minister.
  • Contribute to the effective resolution of issues of concern that may exist between the Office and its partners and/or stakeholders.
  • Identify issues of concern and support in the participation of their resolution.
  • Lead the coordination and preparation of briefing materials and background documents in support of senior leadership, Deputy Minister, and/or Minister participation in meetings with partners and stakeholders.

 

Qualifications and Experience

 

The successful candidate will have a post-secondary degree in a related discipline (e.g. social sciences, public administration, health administration) with several years of relevant experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in the health care sector is an asset.

 

In addition, you possess the following:

 

  • Experience in supporting projects and/or initiatives
  • Experience developing partnerships with government departments, agencies and/or employers
  • Strong decision-making skills
  • Experience in developing and presenting written recommendations
  • Skills in database management
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to work under pressure

 

You must have strong communication skills (verbal and written) and the ability to understand and explain programs and policies. Knowledge of and experience with general office software is required (Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet etc.).

 

Previous Project Management experience would be considered an asset.

 

Leadership competencies required at this level of work are: Analytical Thinking, Adaptability and Flexibility, Attention to Detail, Outcome Focus, Effective Interactive Communication, Teamwork and Collaboration, and lntercultural and Diversity Proficiency.

 

We will assess the above qualifications and competencies using one or more of the following tools: written examination, standardized tests, oral presentations, interview(s), and reference checks.

An equivalent combination of training, education and experience will be considered.

Additional Information


This Office is hiring two Coordinator, Stakeholder Relations and Issues Management positions. One position will be with the Strategic Policy and Innovation team and one will be with the Health Professionals Recruitment team.

Pay Grade:  EC 08 

Salary Range:  $2,361.99 - $2,952.48 Bi-Weekly
