About Our Opportunity


The Corporate Policy Administrative Officer is part of our Department’s Strategic Policy and Decision Support (SPDS) unit. You directly contribute to the effective and efficient operation of the division's overall program activity by developing and assisting in the administration of the corporate policy unit.


Primary Accountabilities


In this role, you are responsible for ensuring a streamlined, seamless, innovative, and adaptable approach to policy development, research, and coordination. You will achieve this by:


  • Providing high quality efficient administrative assistance to the policy, evaluation, and data units of SPDS;
  • Drafting and editing documentation for various projects and programs;
  • Coordinating, tracking, and reporting on the status of various projects and portfolios;
  • Record keeping and organization of electronic and paper files;
  • Assisting in the planning, and organization of a broad range of project activities; and
  • Supporting the coordination of appointments to Agencies, Boards and Commissions.


Qualifications and Experience


We are seeking a creative team player who is constantly improving and innovating in their work. As our next Corporate Policy Administrative Officer, you also have a bachelor’s degree and one (1) year of related experience in the coordination and administration of programs/projects.


You are a collaborative team player and have proficient skills in the use of a variety of Microsoft programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook or equivalent. A knack for partnering and developing relationships is essential as you work with various divisions in DCS as well as other government Departments. You have sound judgment skills along with impeccable time management skills to ensure timely completion of tasks. You are a strong communicator, both verbally and in writing.


Attention to detail is essential to effectively support our operations. General knowledge of government policy processes is an asset.  You must always maintain confidentiality and a strong focus on client service.


We will assess the above qualifications and competencies using one or more of the following tools: written examination, standardized tests, oral presentations, interview(s), and reference checks.

Working Conditions


Most of your time is spent in a comfortable office setting. You will have daily contact with the public, various Government Departments as well as other local Agencies and Institutions. Your normal work week is 35 hours/week, 7 hours/day.


Additional Information


This is a Term opportunity with an anticipated end date of September 2, 2022. The appointment status (‘term’, ‘temporary’ or ‘casual’) is dependent on the start date of the successful candidate.

Pay Grade:  PR 06 - PR 10  

Salary Range:  $1,805.02 - $2,588.45 Bi-Weekly
