About Our Opportunity



As a training consultant with the department of Environment, you will be responsible for the analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation of training programs that support skill development for Nova Scotia Environment staff.


Qualifications & Experience


Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and 5 years related experience.  An equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered.  


The successful candidate must have demonstrated knowledge and experience in the design and delivery of training for adult learners (including e-learning training material), conducting research, and providing advice regarding training issues.  The training consultant will require advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office, spreadsheets, graphics, and presentation software. 


The successful candidate must have experience facilitating and leading virtual learning experiences such as workshops or classes.


Must be a self-starter with demonstrated initiative, resourcefulness, and ability to adapt to change.  Must have excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills and be able to work independently using sound judgement.  A valid driver’s license and the ability to work flexible hours on occasion are required. 


A certificate in adult education and experience in graphic recording are considered assets.

Working Conditions:


  • Normal work week is 35 hours/week, 7 hours/day
  • May be required to work overtime on occasion
  • Limited travel within NS may be required


Additional Information:


This is a TERM employment opportunity with anticipated end date of March 31, 2022.  The appointment status (‘term’, ‘temporary’ or ‘casual’) is dependent on the start date of the successful candidate.

Pay Grade:  PR 13  

Salary Range:  $2,384.94 - $2,899.09 Bi-Weekly
