About Our Opportunity

 

Do you want to make a huge impact and help deliver exciting geomatics solutions to partners? If you do, we are looking for someone like you to join our team. We are looking strengthen our team with the addition of a Manager of Geographic Solutions.

Primary Accountabilities

 

Lead a team of dedicated geomatics professionals in an exciting, fast paced environment.

 

  • Manage the province's Spatial Data Infrastructure including multiple instances ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, GIS data storage, and a Spatial Data Warehouse.
  • Manage the provincial Enterprise Agreement for GIS software.
  • Oversee the development and delivery of custom GIS applications for partners.
  • Oversee the publishing of GIS data and services related to the provincial Spatial Data Infrastructure
  • Lead projects involving multi-disciplinary teams of various sizes
  • Team building with the ability to interact effectively and develop strong relationships with staff at all levels.
  • Problem solving, analytical thinking and decision making, and managing complex and competing needs.
  • Have strong written and verbal communication skills.

 

Qualifications and Experience

 

To be considered for this opportunity, you possess a post-secondary degree in a relevant discipline from a recognized university or a diploma from a relevant technical school. You also possess the following:

 

  • Several years of progressively responsible experience in the field of geomatics.
  • In depth knowledge of Geographic Information Systems, geographic data, and related principals.
  • Exceptional inter-personal skills to maintain positive and trusted partner relationships.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills to provide effective leadership and direction.
  • Experience delivering presentations to staff, stakeholders, and/or senior leadership.
  • Project management, budget administration and human resource management.

Working Conditions

 

  • Normal work week is 35 hours/week, 7 hours/day.
  • May be required to work overtime on occasion.
  • Majority of time spent in an office environment.
  • Travel within communities across Nova Scotia will may occasionally be required.

Pay Grade:  EC 12 

Salary Range:  $3,687.15 - $4,608.93 Bi-Weekly
