About Our Opportunity


As a Customer Service Representative, Transaction Services, you complete transactions and provide quality service to our individual and business customers. Working in a fast paced, continuously evolving service delivery environment, you scrutinize records and process documents, and apply relevant legislation and policy. You also issue primary identity documents such as Driver’s Licences and Nova Scotia Identification cards. Other key responsibilities include maintaining security/control of public funds, and issuing and securing control of serial numbered and non-serial numbered inventory. While exercising a high degree of confidentiality, you accurately enter and retrieve data from automated systems.


About You


To be successful in this position, you have a minimum of four years of experience in a fast-paced, front line customer service environment. An equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered. You are a flexible team-player with strong customer service skills and you perform your work with efficiency and accuracy. In addition, you possess the following:


  • Experience in balancing accounts,
  • Excellent attention to detail,
  • Excellent judgment,
  • Strong communication skills,
  • Demonstrated ability to diplomatically deal with the general public and to effectively manage difficult client engagements,
  • Proven data entry and computer skills,
  • A high aptitude to acquire, retain, organize and apply policies, and procedures,
  • Strong prioritization and problem-solving skills.


The following would be viewed as assets:


  • Knowledge of Service Nova Scotia programs,
  • Bilingualism (French and English),
  • Ability to scrutinize and reconcile financial information and to detect and resolve discrepancies,
  • Some cash handling experience.


We will assess the above qualifications and competencies using one or more of the following tools: written examination, standardized tests, oral presentations, interview(s), and reference checks.


Additional Information


This is a Term part-time 80% position based in Baddeck with an anticipated end date of December 7, 2022. Travel may be required for training and work purposes.  Travel expenses will be reimbursed by the employer.

Pay Grade:  CL 18  

Salary Range:  $1,256.98 - $1,406.40 Bi-Weekly
