About Our Opportunity

 

Reporting to the Executive Director of Policy and Corporate Services, the Director of Corporate Development and Support services will lead the design and implementation of legislative and corporate requirements for key support services for the Department of Agriculture.  
 

As the Director of Corporate Development and Support services, you will be responsible for: 
 
•    Leading departmental quality improvement and safety initiatives including, process  improvement, quality assurance, business continuity management, occupational health and safety and building access and security. 

•    Facilities and project management, space planning, leases, asset inventory, mail distribution  and corporate supply distribution.

•    Oversight of information assets and records management.

 

As the Director, you will work with Senior Management, other government departments, and external clients to identify needs and ensure projects and initiatives are completed on time and within budget.
 

The Director and Corporate Services unit also provides services to the Department of Fisheries and Aquaculture through a service agreement.

About You

 

As a successful Director of Corporate Development and Support services, you will have proven experience in corporate and project planning in a government environment, as well as exceptional client service skills. You are an innovative and positive leader who possesses highly developed communication skills, knowledge of human resources and financial systems, and has strong problem-solving abilities. 
 

You are well organized and capable of prioritizing and delegating high volumes of work under tight timelines, as well as exercising sound judgement under pressure.
 

A broad understanding of corporate and government issues and priorities, as well as demonstratable quality improvement knowledge are considered assets.

Qualifications and Experience

 

This may be the right opportunity for you if you have, at minimum, a bachelor’s degree, or a professional designation a related discipline i.e.: Lean Management and or Project Management. This role requires extensive experience as a leader and a manager of people and projects. An equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered.

Working Conditions

 

  • Normal work week is 35 hours/week, 7 hours/day
  • Will be required to work overtime on occasion
  • Located in Bible Hill but will require travel to regional offices of the Department of Agriculture

Pay Grade:  EC 13 

Salary Range:  $3,804.02 - $4,755.01 Bi-Weekly
