About Our Opportunity

 

Reporting to the Manager, Compliance and Investigations, you will provide administrative and office management support to the department. You will receive enquiries from senior department staff, representatives from provincial government departments, and the public. In addition, you will:

 

  • assess and assign priority to mail and email, re-directing and/or answering enquiries as appropriate;
  • develop and prepare professional presentations, correspondence, and reports on behalf of the Manager;
  • coordinate and manage the Manager's electronic calendar, including arranging meetings, and booking travel;
  • manage records including agreements, vendor requests, etc.;
  • prepare minutes, agendas, and provide general administrative support to various committees; and
  • track project progress relative to divisional initiatives.

 

About You

 

As the ideal candidate, you have completed a 1 year business course, and possess three years of relevant administrative experience. An equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered. Working under limited supervision, you possess excellent grammar, editing and administrative skills. You have demonstrated proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and web-based software. In addition, you are detail-oriented, resourceful, organized, and are effective at meeting deadlines. In your work, you exercise discretion, tact and diplomacy and maintain confidentiality. Bilingualism (English and French) would be viewed as an asset.

 

We will access the above qualifications and competencies using one or more of the following tools: written examination, standardized tests, oral presentations, interview (s), and reference checks.

 

 

Pay Grade:  CL 18  

 

Salary Range:  $1,510.00 - $1,689.00 Bi-Weekly

 

This is a bargaining unit position initially restricted to current civil service employees represented by the Nova Scotia Government Employees Union (NSGEU).
