About Our Opportunity


Reporting to the Director of Service Provider Relations, you take a collaborative approach to develop effective working relationships with Community Services stakeholders and service providers to support the Department’s program/policy delivery.


You are responsible for the day-to-day management of service provider relations and are the managed point for Service Providers to connect with the Department seeking information and support, often strategic in nature and related to their contract/agreement. You work to understand the Service provider needs in the context of the Department's mandate to provide services to Nova Scotians in alignment with their contractual or Service Level Agreement obligations.


About You


You have a degree in the Social Sciences supported with several years of related experience in a progressively responsible managerial position.  You must have a high level of interpersonal skills, communication (both verbal and written) and negotiation skills with a demonstrated ability in decision making, problem solving, policy interpretation and development, strategic planning and relationship building.  An understanding of the public sector and the Department of Community Services would be an asset.


Competencies which may be evaluated during the interview process may include: Analytical Thinking, Action Management, Team Leadership, Initiative, Effective Interactive Communication, Partnering & Relationship Building and Intercultural Diversity Proficiency.


We will assess the above qualifications and competencies using one or more of the following tools: written examination, standardized tests, oral presentations, interview(s), and reference checks.


Other Considerations


Position services the North Eastern region of the Province.  Work location in the North Eastern region to be determined in dicussions with Director.



Pay Grade:  EC 10 


Salary Range:  $2,411.61 - $3,014.53 Bi-Weekly
