About Our Opportunity
The Financial Service Division/Operational Accounting, has an opening that will provide the opportunity to apply your excellent financial expertise and client service in a setting that offers challenges and values collaborative teamwork and innovative thinking. Under the general direction of the Coordinator, Operational Accounting, the Accounting Clerk will be responsible for timely and accurate processing of financial documents.
Primary Accountabilities
- Processing of invoices, cheque requisitions, journal entries, travel expenses, etc.
- Ensure all financial transactions are in adherence to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and comply with government policies and procedures.
- Verify documentation, signing authorities, tax codes and order numbers
Qualifications and Experience
To be considered for this opportunity, you have at least three years related experience. An equivalent combination of related training and experience may be acceptable.
Experience with SAP Accounts Payable and General Ledger or a comparable large Enterprise Resource Planning Application (ERP) would be an asset as well as knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and bookkeeping procedures.
The successful candidate must be comfortable in a computer-based work environment, with proficiency in Microsoft Office software. The candidate will also possess excellent organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to manage large volumes of workflow while maintaining accuracy and meeting service level objectives as well as the ability to react and adjust positively to changes in work environment and in policies and procedures.
The ability to scrutinize and reconcile financial information and to detect and resolve discrepancies are considered assets.

Working Conditions
- Normal work week is 35 hours/week, 7 hours/day.

Pay Grade: CL 18
Salary Range: $1,684.00 - $1,884.17 Bi-Weekly
