Nova Scotia Digital Service branch (NSDS) of the Department of Internal Services is a leader in client focused service delivery. About Our Opportunity

 

Reporting to the Manager of ERP Architecture and Strategy the Application/Landscape Architect will ensure that proper attention is placed on the people, process, technology, and business aspects of the Program, and develops and enforces supportive methodologies, models, roadmaps, and standards by streamlining and creating innovative solutions.

Primary Accountabilities


As the ideal candidate, you will thrive on delivering strategic and innovative solutions. As a member of the SAP Enterprise Architecture team within the SAP Service Management Group, the Application/Landscape Architect is responsible for the daily operations of the SAP Platform Support Services and works with the SAP Service Management CRM’s, PMO, ASP, SAP support services, NSDS infrastructure operations and NSDS CAB, ARB, and TAG teams to deliver an efficient and effective service to all 8 of our SAP clients.

 

You will be a leader that cares and supports their team through their career development, promotes engagement and leads by example while supporting diversity and a healthy workplace.  The Technical Architect will network and engage through regular contact with the Group’s management team, program owners, business owners, vendors and other project management professionals to discuss operations and project requirements, operations and project issues, proliferate the use of standards and processes. This exciting position offers project opportunities cross-departmental and inter-jurisdictional and the Application/Landscape Architect will work collaboratively with clients and management from provincial departments, municipalities, health authorities, school boards and other Public sector clients ensuring the successful delivery of steady state operations and projects. 

 

As the Application/Landscape Architect, you are responsible for providing direction to NSDS infrastructure and change management teams and SAP technical teams, as well as, technical analysts for steady state operations and projects managed by the PMO. This includes managing the SAP technical landscape and providing insight to steady state operations and projects to ensure they are meeting SLA objectives, client expectations and are delivered in accordance with SAP service delivery best practices. This position is responsible for championing the use and awareness of the methodology, tools, training, and mentoring required to complete technical requirements for steady state operations and projects. 

 

You are also responsible for the efficient/effective service delivery of all the SAP landscapes from an application and infrastructure perspective. The Application/Landscape Architect works closely and collaboratively with various types of stakeholders across the Province. The position is responsible for developing and maintaining high-performance relationships with SAP SM, ASP, NSDS services infrastructure operations and NSDS services change management teams, while aligning with the organizational vision and meeting business requirements. 

Qualifications and Experience

 

To be successful in this role, you will have a Bachelors Degree in Information Technology or Computer Science plus three (3) years related experience; or graduation from a recognized Information Technology or Computer Science Program plus three (3) years and six (6) months related experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience may be acceptable.

 

As the ideal candidate, you will have the following work experience:

 

  • SAP application architecture, system administration, SAP and associated infrastructure security experience in an SAP environment is mandatory
  • Privacy Impact and Treat Risk assessment experience
  • SAAS and IAAS support understanding and/or experience for a variety of SAP solutions
  • System Change Management experience for SAP and associated infrastructure
  • Experience in managing several diverse SAP Platforms and landscapes concurrently
  • Change management through evidence of client / customer focused behavior with attention to quality and accuracy
  • superior verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively and equally with business and technical experts
  • Ability to establish and maintain productive and collaborative working relationships with peers, clients, and a broad range of stakeholders
  • Strong leadership skills as well as collaborative team building and personnel development talents
  • Ability to navigate complex and often conflicting situations is necessary in this environment
  • Strong problem solving, analytical and facilitation skills
  • Work with minimal supervision, have a high degree of accuracy, and make good business decisions.  

The following would be considered an asset:

 

  • Worked in an SAP support services organization
  • Experience with SAP One Support Launchpad ( SAP Marketplace), maintaining installations, systems and user accounts
  • Proficiency and sound functional knowledge with Power point, Visio or other architecture design tools, SharePoint and maintenance of infrastructure skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. MS Word, Excel, Outlook, etc).

Pay Grade:  PR 14  

Salary Range:  $2,488.52 - $3,030.25 Bi-Weekly
