About Our Opportunity

 

We are currently seeking qualified candidates for an excellent career opportunity as Audit Manager on our Financial Audit Team. This position directly reports to an Audit Principal on the Financial Audit Team.

 

Primary Accountabilities

 

As an Audit Manager, you are responsible for the planning, fieldwork and reporting of financial statement audits and other assurance engagements in accordance with professional standards/guidance and Office methodology. This may include but is not limited to evaluating the resource needs and expertise required to properly perform the engagement, obtaining and maintaining a strong understanding of the entity and its business needs, developing audit procedures, completing a thorough review of audit work on a timely basis and ensuring documentation complies with Office standards. You will also assist in the training and development of our junior staff through direct supervision by acting as a coach or mentor. Limited travel within Nova Scotia may be required.

 

Qualifications and Experience

 

  • Canadian Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation;
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant and up-to-date post-designation experience in financial statement audits;
  • Knowledge of Canadian Auditing Standards and Canadian Public Sector Accounting Standards; 
  • Solid project management skills to ensure engagements are completed within budget and time constraints;
  • Ability to develop and manage effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders;
  • Effectively manages change and possesses a strong capacity to cope with stress, adversity and ambiguity;
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills;
  • Ability to coach junior staff; and
  • Highly proficient in use of MS Office Suite, knowledge of SAP and CAAT software would be considered an asset.

Pay Grade:  EC 11 

Salary Range:  $3,062.13 - $3,836.49 Bi-Weekly
