About Us


The Department of Intergovernmental Affairs is the central agency responsible for coordinating and advancing the province's interests with the Government of Canada, other provinces, and foreign governments at the national and sub-national levels. It is also focused on serving as a central point of contact for the coordination of the province's intergovernmental priorities, support to the Ministers responsible for Military Relations, Trade, Protocol and the operation of Government House.
 

 The Corporate Services unit of the Canadian Intergovernmental Relations and Corporate Services division is responsible for the planning, development, and completion of a wide range of corporate and departmental reports and functions throughout the year.   This includes budget planning and financial management, Ministerial mandate actions reporting, operations and facilities management, information management, security and emergency preparedness, business continuity planning, and occupational health and safety management.
 

Corporate Services is responsible for  IGA’s business plan and accountability report, Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy requests, and corporate policies including Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Accessibility.   

About Our Opportunity

 

This is a twelve (12) month internship for a recent graduate of university or community college program.

The position will report to the Director, Corporate Services.

Primary Accountabilities


 Some of the primary accountabilities for this role include:

  • Assisting with the development, organization and filing of documents.
  • Creating tables, excel spreadsheets, etc.
  • Preparing status reporting for corporate policies.
  • Supporting research projects by gathering information and data, and tracking and reporting on project timelines and deliverables.
  • Conducting analysis on data and information.
  • Participating in the development of jurisdictional scans.  Coordinates distribution and compiles results.
     

This job requires strong writing skills, the ability to work on tight deadlines, and attention to detail on complex files. Knowledge of records management would be an asset.

Qualifications and Experience

  • You must have graduated from a post-secondary institute, such as a university, community college or recognised trade school within the past three (3) years

Additional Information


This is a Internship employment opportunity with anticipated end date of October 15, 2025.  The appointment status (‘term’, ‘temporary’ or ‘casual’) is dependent on the start date of the successful candidate.

Pay Grade:  EC 06 

Salary Range:  $2,081.28 - $2,601.60 Bi-Weekly
