We are recruiting for a Director of Corporate Development with the Policy, Planning and Support Services Branch of Lands and Forestry who will provide strategic oversight and management of our diverse facilities and information assets. About Our Opportunity

 

As the Director of Corporate Development, you will be responsible for the oversight of the department’s information management program which includes business intelligence, facilities management and related business processes and client service delivery. This work is essential in order to meet the diverse and continually changing needs of the public, internal and external clients and partners. You will lead a diverse team in the delivery of research and information services, the management and delivery of facilities and infrastructure and in the delivery of a reliable and secure information management program and associated structures to support department operations.


As the department lead for business continuity planning and enterprise (strategic and program) risk management, you will work collaboratively across the organization to develop supporting frameworks, policies and evaluation tools to develop a unified approach in establishing these programs across the department. You may also be regularly involved in:

 

  • coordinating and facilitating a wide range of complex planning projects and corporate initiatives using best practice management principles to propose efficiency and effectiveness measures for improvements in program outcomes and enhancements;
  • providing strategic and operational oversight for the public Research and Information Services Centre; and
  • providing direction and management for the effective, efficient and responsive functioning of a wide range of core infrastructure services, operations and functions (eg. infrastructure renewal and space planning for multiple locations)

 

About You

 

As the successful candidate, you will have a post-secondary degree in a related discipline (such as Commerce, Public Administration and/or Business) with several years of progressive related management experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. You will have demonstrated experience in human resource, financial and project management as well as the ability to lead diverse teams to achieve success. 

 

You possess exceptional communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to build and maintain strong business relationships. You are a collaborative individual with demonstrated presentation and negotiation skills and possess the ability to effect positive change in a dynamic environment. You encourage new ideas, offer innovative solutions and utilize technologies that enhance the quality and cost effectiveness of your work.

 

You have experience in a leadership role employing strategic solutions and designing risk management strategies to meet project outcomes. You have a broad understanding of information management, information systems and technology innovations and are comfortable with presenting and delivering specialized information to a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.

 

Leadership competencies required at this level of work are:  Decisiveness, Strategic Orientation, Developing Others, Team Leadership, Self-Awareness and Personal Impact, Effective Interactive Communication, Partnering and Relationship Building, and Intercultural and Diversity Proficiency.

Pay Grade:  EC 12 

 

Salary Range:  $2,918.00 - $3,647.00 Bi-Weekly
