Your Role & Its Impact

 

As the Director, Internal Operations you will be responsible for:

 

 

  • Assisting and continuously improving the effective administration associated with delivering most of government’s programs to support the scaling and modernizing of our delivery capabilities.
  • Providing strategic direction and leadership in the planning and management of the structure, model, resources, employee engagement and change management of  the Service Design and Delivery division, which are organized teams of highly skilled digital practitioners.
  • Ensuring Service Design and Delivery is following government requirements and provide quality control and oversight for briefings, ministerial approvals, treasury and policy board requirements, contract management, procurement, budget and financial management, and ensure timely and accurate responses to FOIPOP, Media requests, and Ministerial Correspondence.

  • Being a trusted executive advisor to leadership, team members, and partners providing business-specific expertise and consultative services in the effective management of the division.
  • Working collaboratively with other leaders and stakeholders across government to continuously identify spaces where the team can add value to clients, understand their needs to develop and deliver excellent user-centered products/services.
  • Bringing high-quality technological capability into government to drive the transformation that enables next generation digital public services, and high-quality working environments for public servants. 
  • Being responsible for the financial position of the division, department, and wider government context, promoting and visibly demonstrating a culture of ‘value for money’.
  • Ensuring the division is allocating financial resources and deploying human resources strategically.

Your experience in: 

 

  • complex multi-dimensional organization with varied need for technology solutions
  • internet-era practices, and ability to effectively engage with multidisciplinary teams to achieve business/policy outcomes 
  • developing strategies for effective need identification and translation into the required product solution 
  • contract management and negotiation, effective partnership management 
  • effective budget management and human resource allocation  
  • developing approaches for impactful and meaningful employee engagement

Additional Information

 

  • While this position is based in Halifax, travel throughout the province will be required periodically.

Pay Grade:  EC 14 

Salary Range:  $4,075.74 - $5,106.37 Bi-Weekly
