Primary Accountabilities
• Receives and tracks close to 2500 applications for classification per year from applicants within NS, throughout Canada and internationally.
• Reviews applications for completeness, corresponds with applicants on missing information, creates and maintains applicant files.
• Processes and coordinates all classification applications and ensures readiness for program staff to review and assess.
• Manages classification databases and ensures accuracy.
• Provides accurate, timely and efficient support (administrative and organizational) to staff. This includes timely responses to phone, email and walk-in inquiries about classification.
• Maintains and updates program records and files. Is responsible for the retrieval, retention, storage and disposition, of classification records.
• Provides operational support on the day-to-day administrative tasks as required by Classification Services.
• Maintains and improves internal administrative processes supporting the Manager of Classification.
• May perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
This may be the right opportunity for you if you have completed high school with 4 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered. Knowledge of credential assessment processes would be considered an asset.

You possess exceptional professional communication skills (verbal and written) with all levels of staff, internal and external stakeholders and the general public. You demonstrate flexibility in responding to unforeseen work demands by re-prioritizing and adjusting your work plans. You are comfortable working independently with minimal supervision. You effectively multi-task and approach your work with objectivity and confidentiality. You have demonstrated experience interpreting and analyzing data and experience with Microsoft Office programs (WordPerfect, Excel, Outlook etc.).
We will assess the above qualifications and competencies using one or more of the following tools: written examination, standardized tests, oral presentations, interview(s), and reference checks.

Additional Information
This is a three-year term opportunity with an anticipated end date dependent on the start date of the successful candidate. The appointment status (‘term’, ‘temporary’ or ‘casual’) is dependent on the start date of the successful candidate.

Pay Grade: CL 18
Salary Range: $1,675.62 - $1,874.80 Bi-Weekly
