The department collaborates with Crown corporations and special operating entities to facilitate common understanding and alignment to create a dynamic environment for inclusive economic success.  We also work with other government departments and levels of government, post secondary institutions and the private and social enterprise sectors to achieve shared growth objectives.

About Our Opportunity

 

This is one of two Executive Director positions in the Department of Inclusive Economic Growth providing advice to the Deputy Minister with forward-thinking approaches for the strategic direction and priorities of the department; and providing advice and informed insight on key sector and organizational issues and opportunities.

 

As the executive lead on crown corporation and partner alignment efforts, you will lead and oversee the implementation of strategic priorities, on behalf of the department, in partnership with Crown Corporations, Regional Enterprise Networks and key system partners.

 

In this role you will report to the Associate Deputy Minister.

Primary Accountabilities

 

As the Executive Director, Crown and Partner Alignment you will lead:

 

  • And cultivate strong relationships and work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders, building consensus and momentum for growth-oriented strategies, projects and investments focuses on entrepreneurship, innovation, and sector/cluster development.
  • Collaborative efforts to identify opportunities for innovation and increasing the value government realizes from crown agencies and strategic partnerships.
  • A diverse network of strategic partnerships and relationships within the department, across government, across private and community sector partners
  • The development, review, monitoring, and evaluation of corporate legislation (new and amending) regulations and other policy instruments to enhance the department’s and crown’s capacity to strategically develop and enhance inclusive economic growth.
  • A secretariat function in support of the Departments agencies including program development, reporting, evaluation, and accountability; and the fulfilment of the province’s inclusive economic growth objectives.
  • The coordination, monitoring and/or implementation of major projects related to various economic initiatives.
  • Engagement in broad dialogue and ongoing communication at an executive level to facilitate shared understanding and achievement of inclusive economic growth objectives and ensure that stakeholder and corporate needs are addressed effectively and efficiently.

Qualifications and Experience

 

This may be the right opportunity for you if you have a  Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline coupled with considerable years of progressive management experience in a related field with several years at a senior level (or acceptable equivalent).

 

As the ideal candidate you have previous leadership experience, creating an organizational climate that fosters creativity, collaboration, partnerships. You also have previous experience setting and evaluating staff performance targets, promoting diversity and a healthy workplace, monitoring revenues and expenditures, acquiring goods and services in the most cost effective manner, and accurately forecasting budget requirements for the fiscal year.

 

You have exceptional time management skills to manage multiple priorities with competing deadlines. You posses strong communication (written/verbal) and relationship building skills to engage with others, get buy-in to deliver results and skillfully influence to build support.  

 

Leadership competencies required at this level of work are:

Decisiveness, Strategic Orientation, Change Leadership, Team Leadership, Effective Interactive Communication, Self-Awareness and Personal Impact, Partnering and Relationship Building, and Intercultural and Diversity Proficiency.

Pay Grade:  EC 16 

Salary Range:  $4,976.46 - $6,234.89 Bi-Weekly
