The Mission: To enable the transformation of the province’s largest registry.


The Departments of Public Works and Service Nova Scotia-Internal Services are tasked with transforming the province’s Registry Motor Vehicles Program. This is a full-scale initiative that involves modernizing the legislative framework through the proclamation of the new Traffic Safety Act, to new business processes and models for service delivery embracing digital ways of working requiring adaptable technical platforms for delivery.

Your Role & Its Impact


As the Executive Lead, Registry of Motor Vehicle (RMV) Modernization, you will be responsible for leading and inspiring your team, by creating the conditions necessary to deliver the transformation and modernization of the Registry of Motor Vehicles Program.  This role will be critical in enabling complex systems transformation by:


  • Creating human-centred services for citizens and public servants to make driving in Nova Scotia safer, simpler, and greener
  • Directing, planning, and implementing the delivery of the RMV Modernization, supporting the conditions necessary to enable the delivery of the outcomes of the Traffic Safety Act.
  • Providing leadership and direction, using internet-era ways of working to both internal and external team members.
  • Inspiring a team to work differently, by embracing human centered, iterative, and continuous improvement approaches to delivery.


How You Can Make an Impact


  • You will work with the Chief Digital Officer, the NSDS Executive Team, and the Executive Sponsors of the RMV Modernization program to build empowered, engaged teams of internet-era, servant leaders.
  • Empower teams to use internet-era ways of working, keep a strong focus on delivery priorities, be accountable for delivery, and act swiftly to respond to changing requirements.
  • Work collaboratively to identify opportunities for innovation and increasing value.
  • Positively influence and partner with senior strategic sponsors and partners to develop horizontal, aligned strategies and frameworks that support the province's goals for the RMV Modernization initiative.
  • Be responsible for the strategic and financial position of the services, department, and wider government context, promoting and visibly demonstrating a culture of value for money.
  • Be a champion for the program and develop extensive business partnerships with Executives of Public Works and SNSIS to effect large transformational change.

Additional Information


While this position is based in Halifax, travel throughout the province will be required periodically.




Pay Grade:  EC 15 

Salary Range:  $4,655.16 - $5,753.55 Bi-Weekly
