About Our Opportunity

 

The Financial Services Division/Operational Accounting has an opening that will provide the opportunity to apply your excellent client service and financial expertise in a setting that offers challenges and values collaborative teamwork and innovative thinking. Under the general direction of the Manager, Operational Accounting, this position is responsible for leading and managing all positions of the Maintenance Enforcement Program's Central Payment Processing Unit. The Financial Services Officer oversees all aspects of the payment of maintenance from receipt to final dispersal. This position is also accountable for the effective and efficient processing of documents for payment and retention, as well as liaising between the Central Payment Processing Unit and other Program units to ensure timely resolution of client needs and related payment matters.

 

Qualifications and Experience

 

To be considered for this opportunity, you have a minimum of three (3) years of post-secondary professional accounting training, plus five (5) years of related experience. An equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience may be considered.

 

You are knowledgeable of financial policies and procedures and have an excellent understanding of the demands and requirements of a large and diverse group of clients. You are also effective at managing multiple priorities and are a team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills. You also exercise sound judgment and apply critical thinking while maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information. Furthermore, you possess ERP experience/knowledge; and are proficient in Microsoft Excel.

 

The following would be viewed as assets: knowledge of the Nova Scotia Maintenance Enforcement Program, experience in the interpretation and application of policies and procedures in a dynamic and complex program as well as supervisory experience. We will assess the above qualifications and competencies using one or more of the following tools: written examination, standardized tests, oral presentations, interview(s), and reference checks.

Pay Grade:  TE 22  

Salary Range:  $2,189.32 - $2,574.66 Bi-Weekly
