About Our Opportunity


Reporting to the Manager of Operations Support, you will review and investigate the Registry of Motor Vehicles (RMV) activities to ensure compliance with established Registry of Motor Vehicles policies and procedures within Service Nova Scotia. This is achieved through the review and analysis of data related to the issuance and use of department inventories and monies as well as through the transaction review process. You will also detect instances of fraud or theft and investigate and report on such incidents.


In addition, you will schedule and monitor inventory counts for workstation, line and warehouse users of the RMV system. You will investigate inventory discrepancies which are identified as the result of inventory counts and you will provide direction to Senior Customer Service Representatives and/or Customer Service Leaders regarding the appropriate action required to correct errors. You will contact clients of the RMV to obtain information necessary to investigate inventory discrepancies and counsel clients in instances where escalated concerns have been referred by a Client Contact Centre. In this position, you will conduct semi-annual Field audits of RMV Office locations throughout the Province. Lastly, you will review requests for the addition or removal of RMV users from various applications, and will determine the appropriateness of the request.


About You


To be successful in this position, you possess a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience. An equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered. You have the ability to think analytically, and conceptually and to develop practical solutions to problems and service delivery challenges. You must have an advanced knowledge of Registry and Motor Vehicle policies and procedures, with particular focus on inventory and cash handling. Strong written, verbal, and listening skills are critical for this position. A valid driver's licence is required for this position. Experience in report writing would be viewed as an asset.


We will assess the above qualifications and competencies using one or more of the following tools: written examination, standardized tests, oral presentations, interview(s), and reference checks.

Pay Grade:  CL 22  


Salary Range:  $1,734.00 - $1,918.00 Bi-Weekly


This is a bargaining unit position initially restricted to current civil service employees represented by the Nova Scotia Government Employees Union (NSGEU).
