The Strategy and Corporate Services division of SNS-IS has a vast array of responsibilities, including but not limited to:

 

  • Leading SNS-IS’s business planning cycle;
  • Developing corporate reports, policies, procedures and processes for the organization and clients;
  • Providing advice and leadership to the Senior Executive Team on a variety of complex and politically sensitive issues related to policy and legislation; and ensuring that SNS-IS’s legislative and regulatory cabinet submissions to the Executive Council are of the highest quality;
  • Providing consultations, training, and support for leaders and employees across SNS-IS on a variety of topics related to diversity, inclusion, equity, and accessibility; and
  • Providing the infrastructure, tools, and technology to support SNS-IS’s staff to work safely and effectively.
  • Supporting the engagement and development of staff that leads to organizational success for SNS-IS;

What You Will Do

 

As the Junior Policy and Performance Analyst with the Strategy and Performance team, you will:

 

  • Undertake cross jurisdictional research and analysis to identify best practices and trends on issues related to corporate strategy, policy, and performance in the public sector;
  • Assist with performance measurement approaches and outcome-based evaluation activities to ensure proper and accurate reporting of accomplishments across SNS-IS’s divisions;
  • Provide support on key initiatives to ensure the Strategy and Performance team achieves its divisional business planning objectives;
  • Engage in supporting program areas and subject matter experts across SNS-IS with legislative and regulatory cabinet submissions to the Executive Council;
  • Assist in the preparation of corporate reports, briefing notes, presentations, and project status reports; and
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience

 

To be considered for this summer student opportunity, you are currently a full-time Post-Graduate university student entering or returning to study in the fall or next applicable semester. 

 

As the ideal candidate, you are well-organized with high energy, effective communication, as well as problem solving skills. You enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and is highly professional. You are able to manage multiple priorities and demonstrate high initiative and resourcefulness with a strong attention to detail. You value the concepts of diversity and inclusion in your workplace, and this allows you to foster positive relationships. You are a team player with a desire to consistently create a positive work environment. Although not required, previous experience working in a public administration environment and/or a public service industry would be considered an asset.

 

We will assess the above qualifications and competencies using one or more of the following tools: written examination, standardized tests, oral presentations, interview(s), and reference checks.

 

     

Pay Grade:  HOURLY 

Salary Range:  $24.29 - $28.12 Bi-Weekly
