About Us

EECD is working to build an integrated early years system throughout the province that will provide more accessible and comprehensive support for young children and their families.

About Our Opportunity

As the Manager of the Business Support Center, you will have the unique opportunity to shape, guide, and support the future direction of the education system in the province. If you excel in transforming your vision into reality, enhancing service delivery for clients, and data governance, this is the role for you. The Manager is a key leader focused on supporting the SAP ERP platform used by Regional Centers for Education and Conseil Scolaire Acadien Provincial across Nova Scotia.

In this role, you will lead the strategic planning, implementation, and governance of education-related SAP processes and system enhancements, while overseeing platform operations, including upgrades and process changes, to ensure optimal performance and alignment with educational goals. Additionally, you will manage both regional and provincial data, ensuring its integrity and optimal utilization across the education system.

You will develop and manage a team of skilled professionals who provide SAP support to a wide variety of end-users in collaboration with IT partners and professionals within the education system across the province. Your leadership will be crucial in fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence in data management to support the education system's goals.

Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate will possess a post-secondary degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, combined with a minimum of eight years of IT experience, including at least five years working with SAP and two years in a management or other leadership role. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will also be considered. As a demonstrated leader, you should have a proven ability to prioritize and manage high-level tasks under tight timelines, exercise sound judgment under pressure, and effectively lead and motivate teams.

A strong understanding of SAP configuration, business processes, and data is essential for this role, including expertise in SAP modules such as Finance, HCM, Procurement, Plant Maintenance, and GRC. You should also have experience with SAP integrations and be well-versed in leading major change management initiatives, using the right tools to introduce new processes and technologies effectively. Your ability to communicate complex technical solutions in a clear and engaging manner to diverse audiences is crucial, as is your capacity to foster strong relationships with stakeholders, vendors, IT teams, and clients.

Success in this role will require a track record of leading support organizations and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will also have experience in project management, data governance, and service delivery within large, complex organizations. This includes conducting needs assessments, developing project plans, improving processes, managing data, and delivering presentations. Additionally, you must demonstrate the ability to promote and expand the team's data services, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and client needs.
