What Are We Looking For
In a manager role, you will lead a team of professionals and are responsible for overall development and delivery of our email services, in accordance with legislation, policy and/or regulations.
The Manager is accountable for strategic and operational leadership through direction, planning, evaluation, and implementation requiring experience with and knowledge of legislation, regulations, policies and programs to support departmental and government priorities. Works collaboratively across government and with various stakeholders and sectors to build collaborative relationships and innovate.
Your Role & Its Impact
As the Manager, Digital Collaboration (E-mail Operations), you will be responsible for:
- Working closely with government and healthcare users to ensure the Email services are being deployed and used effectively.
- Communicating and implementing digital concepts.
- Monitoring performance against key performance indicators and providing recommendations based on data.
- Creating and maintaining relationships with internal and external clients.
- Collaborating within other areas of government and the department to develop internet era policies around the use of strong vendor management.

- Dive deep to understand the needs of internal and external users, stakeholders, and partners and their related program goals, program policies and operational constraints so that you can develop products that are valuable, usable, and feasible.
- Translate the needs of the users, partners, and public servants into multi-channel services.
- Work with the team to deliver products and iteratively improve them through several cycles.
- Help your team build the right things in the right order by developing and prioritizing user stories, product roadmaps and backlogs based on evidence and your knowledge of user needs.
- Keep people informed and engaged by working in the open about the design and development of your products and promote their uptake.

- Being strategic and tactical - you'll help define the product strategy, but also roll up your sleeves to get it launched.
- Setting measurable goals for your product and report against these to demonstrate progress against stated benefits.
- Seeking to understand how a product technically works, ask questions and challenge assumptions.
- Representing users throughout the design and delivery process and use their feedback to inform continuous improvement while ensuring smooth operations.
- Ensuring the service is designed with accessibility from the start.
- Being responsible for the quality of your products.
What You Bring To The Table
To be considered for this opportunity, you hold experience and expertise in the following areas:
- At least 1 year of experience managing email operations and services.
- Decision making responsibilities for development and ongoing management of Exchange Online Protection and Microsoft Defender for Office 365, MS Place.
- Understanding of Microsoft’s Active Directory and EntraID
- Leading one or more multidisciplinary delivery teams with direct reports to deliver excellent products and services to users
- Managing the scope and budget required to deliver excellent new or existing products and services to meet our users' needs
- Launching digital products or services to customers using principles of user research usability design analytics accessibility.
In addition, you hold the following experience and skills:
- The ability to influence at senior levels (e.g. with senior executive teams and deputies).
- The ability to lead change through influencing collaboration across a matrix organization in a highly fluid environment.
- Building empowered teams by delegating authority and providing coaching and support.
- Internet-era practices, and ability to effectively engage with multidisciplinary teams to achieve business/policy outcomes.
- User centered, innovative and product management approaches to ensuring the secure delivery of services.

Additional Information
While this position is based in Halifax, travel throughout the province will be required periodically.
