About Our Opportunity

 

As the Manager of Geomatics Partnerships and Policy, you provide a crucial role in building and maintaining partnerships, plus responsibility for establishing geomatics standards and practises.

 

This Manager role is highly collaborative by the nature of the work. As Manager, you will work with programs across government to ensure the effective use of GIS and geomatics technologies.

 

The Manager reports to the Director of Geographic Information Services.

As Manager, you will:

 

  • Collaborate closely with partners to coordinate geomatics communication efforts.
  • Act as liaison for partners and stakeholders.
  • Establish and maintain partner and stakeholder relationships.
  • Organize partner and stakeholder events that highlight geomatics or create geomatics awareness.
  • Establish geomatics standards for government.
  • Facilitate and coordinate provincial geomatics training.
  • Document geomatics services, processes, and procedures.
  • Manage various projects and initiatives.
  • Be responsible for an operational budget.

Qualifications and Experience

 

As the ideal candidate for this role, you possess a post-secondary degree in a relevant discipline from a recognized university or a diploma from a relevant technical school. You also possess the following:

 

  • Several years of progressively responsible experience in the field of geomatics.
  • In depth knowledge of Geographic Information Systems, geographic data, and related principals.
  • Exceptional inter-personal skills to maintain positive and trusted partner relationships.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills to provide effective leadership and direction.
  • Experience delivering presentations to staff, stakeholders, and/or senior leadership.
  • Project management, budget administration and human resource management

 

This role requires an individual who possesses strong technical knowledge along with excellent interpersonal skills as you will work closely with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders. You are a natural communicator, both written and verbally with the demonstrated ability to articulate and relay complex problems and technical information to a wide range of non-technical audiences and non- geomatics practitioners.

An equivalent combination of related training and experience may be accepted in place of the education qualification requirements. Applicants relying on education and experience equivalencies must demonstrate such equivalencies in their application.

Pay Grade:  EC 12 

Salary Range:  $3,368.38 - $4,220.16 Bi-Weekly
