About Our Opportunity

 

As the Product Manager, you will be part of a multi-disciplinary team working alongside business analysts, vendors, project managers, software developers, and development operations as well as maintaining strong relationships with a variety of business partners. 

 

The Product Manager is responsible for ensuring the ongoing development, improvement, and support of the AMANDA platform and related technologies managed by Service Nova Scotia. 
The Product Manager identifies business partner needs as well as larger business objectives that a product or feature will fulfill, articulates what success looks like for a product, and leads the team to ensure success.

 

The Product Manager researches new product features and participates in vendor user groups with the goal of planning for continuous improvements as well as to offer new features to business partners.
The Product Manager represents the product in Project meetings and in fact finding meetings where the product may be an option for a new initiative to meet potential business partner needs.

Primary Accountabilities

 

The Product Manager’s responsibilities include: 

 

  • Represent the AMANDA Platform to business partners and be the AMANDA Platform stakeholder in projects and NSDS initiatives
  • Help set AMANDA strategy and roadmap for the future
  • Help ensure AMANDA software and supporting software and hardware are up to date and secure
  • Manage Business Partner invoicing and vendor payments
  • Help make key decisions and action plans for business partners with competing initiatives
  • Prioritize overall features and offerings of the AMANDA Platform
  • Keep up to date on latest announcements, offerings, and initiatives from AMANDA vendors and Support Suppliers and how they impact the province’s platform
  • Help ensure all requirements and obligations in the support supplier vendor contract are met
  • Develop a deep understanding of the users' needs and champion these in the delivery of digital product features
  • Help define, explain and iterate a product vision that is compelling to users, team members and stakeholders
  • Inform leadership on status of all ongoing AMANDA Project initiatives
  • Facilitate actioning of TRA, Vulnerability Scans, Web Application Scans, and Penetration testing as required
  • Develop source of knowledge of business partner processes, user roles, interfaces, business continuity plans, and future needs

Qualifications and Experience

 

As the Product Manager, you must have a Bachelor’s degree plus 5 years related experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

 

  • Designing the end-to-end journey of a service including transactions, products and content across both digital and offline channels;
  • Know how to remove complexity from services; 
  • Ability to work within a self-directed culture and navigate ambiguity; and 
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal;
  • Experience working with a variety of clients with often competing needs;
  • Superior skills in root-cause analysis to diagnose and assign resolution of problems faces by users;
  • Superior decision-making skills factoring in considerations such as priority, cost-benefit, and capacity
  • Experience working vendors and ensuring contract terms are met

 

The following would be considered assets:

 

  • Experience working directly with digital services;
  • Existing knowledge of and experience working in an agile manner within a multidisciplinary team
  • Experience supporting a large software platform with multiple clients

Pay Grade:  PR 17  

Salary Range:  $3,091.70 - $3,631.17 Bi-Weekly
