About Our Opportunity


As the Secretary III, you will serve as a main point of contact and quality control for a large volume of inquiries (including ministerial), providing quality assurance of documents.  Working under minimal supervision, you will perform a wide range of complex secretarial and admin support duties of a responsible and confidential nature. You will provide senior level support, undertaking more complex administrative assignments, coordinating the work of less senior clerks. 


As the Secretary III you will report to the Director, Financial Services CSU.

About You


This may be the right opportunity for you if you completed a 1-year business course with 4 years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. 


You are resourceful, reliable and have a high degree of organizational skills, which are required to determine priorities with minimal supervision in a busy environment. You possess sound knowledge of office practices and procedures and a comprehensive knowledge of departmental functions.


You are an exceptional communicator (written and verbal) with strong time management skills. You have sound judgement and initiative, often working independently to resolve administrative issues, selecting alternative courses of action. 


A high degree of confidentiality, sensitivity and discretion is essential. 


We will assess the above qualifications and competencies using one or more of the following tools: written examination, standardized tests, oral presentations, interview(s), and reference checks.


Pay Grade:  CL 22  


Salary Range:  $1,734.00 - $1,918.00 Bi-Weekly


This is a bargaining unit position initially restricted to current civil service employees represented by the Nova Scotia Government Employees Union (NSGEU).
