About Our Opportunity

As Senior Information Analyst, you will be accountable for the execution of an information and data strategy that integrates with the IT systems strategy for the Early Years branch. In this exciting role, you will work in a highly collaborative team environment which will require close coordination with others to achieve success. You will identify information requirements including, but not limited to, data collection, integrity, and reporting, while fostering a culture of innovation and continuous quality improvement. 

 

The Analyst integrates the information and data plan with the vision, roadmap, and deliverables for the division’s business solutions and IT systems strategy. They will work across the division with program subject matter experts to identify data needs including those required for reporting; program design, monitoring, and evaluation; performance measurement; and strategy development. They will develop, execute, and monitor the information and data plan, and ensure solutions deliver on the capabilities needed for information gathering and reporting. 

 

This role exercises considerable judgement and initiative to solve complex problems and works closely with internal and external partners, including vendors. The ideal candidate will support data migration from legacy applications while modernizing our ways of working through the Microsoft Power Platform.

Primary Accountabilities

 

As Senior Information Analyst, you will be responsible for:

  • Leading the implementation and continuous improvement of the division’s information and data strategy.
  • Understanding the division’s information and data requirements, including how the information and data are used for reporting, program and strategy development, evaluation, and decision making.
  • Documenting existing and future data sets, including how data are collected, stored, accessed, and verified for integrity.
  • Developing and implementing strategies for effective identification of information and data requirements and communicating these needs to technical resources during a time of significant transformational change.
  • Working with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to identify missing data sets or process improvements that enable improved ways of collecting and storing data.
  • Ensuring key performance indicators and metrics are captured in existing and future IT solutions
  • Leading data governance and stewardship for the division, communicating meaningful information to senior leadership, and supporting operational success by advising and building data knowledge within the division’s teams.
  • Establishing and maintaining relationships with partners across the organization to communicate status and align priorities, specifically with Data Analytics and Information Access and Privacy teams.
  • Supporting the development of reports and dashboards through Microsoft Power BI for executive, program, and policy decision making needs.
  • Working closely with technical partners and the business to integrate the information and data plan with new IT products.
  • Coordinating and supporting the development of necessary Privacy Impact Assessments related to the collection and use of personal information.

Qualifications and Experience


You have a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with at least 6 years of related experience, including work in the area of information and data management.  

 

To be successful in this role, you will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Proven track record in an information and data management role in a project-based environment designing and implementing information and data strategies for IT systems.
  • Experience developing information and data plans to ensure the appropriate collection, storage, validity, and standardization of information and data.
  • Experience identifying and formulating information and data requirements and the ability to communicate complex data needs to technical resources.
  • Experience designing reporting specifications to support the development of reporting and dashboards that advise executive, program, or policy decision-making.
  • Experience supporting data migration from legacy systems to new IT systems.
  • Experience working with multi-disciplinary and diverse project teams towards shared goals and outcomes.
  • A high degree of problem-solving skills to introduce, promote, and implement new ideas and resolve conflicts and concerns as they arise.
  • Strong research, analytical, and facilitation skills, with the ability to support the division’s goals and objectives.

  • Ability to foster a culture of service excellence and a commitment to idea generation, innovation, and continuous quality improvement with respect to information management processes within the division and branch.
  • Experience in project and portfolio data management and risk management/mitigation principles and practices.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) and the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with internal and external partners.
  • Ability to resolve issues, identify trends, and use data to inform decision making. 
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills. 
  • Experience with Microsoft Power BI software, Microsoft Dataverse and/or SQL, and other Microsoft Power Platform products is considered an asset.

Pay Grade:  PR 17  

Salary Range:  $3,107.16 - $3,649.33 Bi-Weekly
