About Our Opportunity
The Talent Acquisition Team works collaboratively with other service areas within the PSC and managers to lead talent acquisition strategy and planning as well as operational recruitment support.
Under the supervision of the Talent Acquisition Lead, the Talent Acquisition Coordinator is part of a team responsible for delivery of recruitment services to a multi-department client assignment. The position provides coordination and administrative support on the recruitment cycle from start to finish, coordinating the various activities of the requisition until recruitment is complete and the requisition is closed.
The Coordinator supports the Talent Acquisition Consultant in their clients assignment and assists in a variety of projects related to service improvement initiatives, policies and procedures, training, etc.
Primary Accountabilities
- Support the full cycle recruitment and selection process including:
- Completing the requisition to generate the competition
- Posting job ads and executing the marketing plan developed by the TA Consultant and Hiring Manager
- Reviewing applications to confirm application status (BU, non-BU, international, etc.)
- Administering online assessments and compiling results
- Preparing and finalizing offer letters
- Reviewing competition timelines and following up with Hiring Managers as needed
- Monitoring offer acceptance and the onboarding process to ensure completion in a timely basis
- Completing audit of competitions at closing
- Supporting and promoting EDIA principles throughout the recruitment and selection process
- Assisting in recruitment operations, providing research and recommendations on recruitment initiatives
- In conjunction with the TA Consultant, providing support and training to the Hiring Managers throughout the recruitment and selection process
- Under the guidance of senior staff performing outreach and candidate care; establishing new and maintaining existing recruiting networks
- Proactively identifying areas of improvement that can be made to our internal processes which will improve efficiencies in service
Qualifications and Experience
To be successful you will be someone with interest, energy, and enthusiasm for recruitment work. If you are creative, client-service focused, and are excited by change, you’re probably our person!
On the practical side, we’re looking for candidates with post-secondary education in Human Resources. Experience in recruitment and other areas of human resources in a unionized environment would be ideal.
You will:
- Have previous experience using an applicant tracking system and HR information system (such as SAP / SuccessFactors)
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of and commitment to inclusion and diversity practices
- Have strong organizational and administration skills and be detail oriented
- Effectively manage multiple priorities and work under tight time constraints while maintaining a high degree of accuracy in your work
- Be an adaptable communicator able to tailor messages for diverse audiences with strong analytical skills
- Be competent in the Windows environment, including Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and email (i.e., Outlook)
- Be able to work under minimum supervision
- Previous experience providing advice, guidance, and training to managers would be an asset
- Previous experience in a unionized environment would be an asset

Working Conditions
This position will be based in the recently renovated PSC office in downtown Halifax, with typical operating hours Monday to Friday, however occasional pressures may require work outside typical hours. While most of the time is spent in the PSC’s collaborative office environment, you may be required to travel to across the province to attend job fairs and other recruiting initiatives.
Additional Information
This hiring pool will be used to create a pool of qualified candidates to fill opportunities (including Permanent and Term) as they arise over the next several months.

Pay Grade: EC 05
Salary Range: $1,940.61 - $2,425.76 Bi-Weekly
