We are looking to strengthen our growing team with the addition of a Technical Specialist. This position is part of the Digital Collaboration team that enables and accelerates modern workplace productivity and collaboration adoption, promotes awareness and usage of digital collaboration and productivity apps and provides end-to-end support, through the delivery of modern digital experience across:

Reporting to the Manager of Digital Collaboration, as a Technical Specialist for SharePoint, Power Automate and other Microsoft 365 technology platforms, you are responsible for providing design, analysis, development, deployment and ongoing operational support for new and existing SharePoint sites, Workflows, and other Microsoft 365 collaborative solutions and service as used across government of Nova Scotia and health.
Key Responsibilities
- Designs, develops and updates new and existing SharePoint sites and Power Automate.
- Integrates Microsoft Flow/Power Automate into SharePoint.
- Develops workflows that enhance the use of SharePoint.
- Designs, implements, and supports business process, workflow automations and procedures utilizing SharePoint, Power Automate, Power BI, Power Apps, and other Microsoft 365 technology platforms.
- Conducts data conversions/migrations and global standards such as, but not limited to, data retention and data classification tags, management of data loss prevention (DLP) rules and establishes configuration standards relative to meta data for improved use, data searches, and eDiscovery processes.
- Performs SharePoint Site Collection Administration to include managing permissions – restrict and revoke access as required.
- Defines and tests access privileges, control structures, and resources, using periodic audits to identify any security violations and vulnerabilities.
- Maintain and monitor the solutions, provide support to operations, for the resolution of technically complex incidents and problems.
- Delivers in the agile and internet-era ways of working.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
To be successful in this role, you will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science plus a minimum of three (3) years’ experience or graduation from a recognized Information Technology or Information Management program plus three (3) years and six (6) months of experience (or the equivalent combination of training and experience).
- Minimum of 3-years’ experience working extensively with SharePoint.
- Experience in MS Power Platform design, e.g., Power Automate and Power Apps.
- Demonstrated ability to understand the rights, permissions, capabilities, and responsibilities of four kinds of SharePoint users: End Users, Power Users, Site Owners, Site Collection Administrators.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
- Demonstrated strong problem solving, analytical skills, and strategic thinking.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including stakeholder management, training, presentation, and public speaking.
- Ability to be flexible and adaptable in the face of changing organizational priorities and ambiguous environments.
- Ability to research and quickly assimilate relevant new technologies, concepts, architectures, and features is essential.
- Knowledge of project management methodology, ITIL processes, Records/Information Management and IT Security policies and procedures in Government
