About Our Opportunity


Working in a fast-paced, team environment, our Training Consultant is responsible for leading the analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation of training programs which support the skill development of Nova Scotia Environment and Climate Change staff.


As the Department's training consultant, you will guide all aspects of the development and delivery of our training programs. This includes the completion of needs assessments, course design and development, implementation, and program evaluation and review. You will lead departmental teams on a wide range of training programs as well as have the opportunity to manage projects to ensure they are completed on time and within budget. In addition, this role will also be involved with facilitating meetings for various work units within Nova Scotia Environment and Climate Change.

Qualifications and Experience


You will hold a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and 5 years of related experience;  or an equivalent combination of training and experience.


As the successful candidate, you will demonstrate knowledge and experience in the design and delivery of training for adult learners (including e-learning training material), conducting research, and providing advice regarding training issues.  You will possess an advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office, spreadsheets, graphics, and presentation software.  As the leader for training and development you will be a self-starter with demonstrated initiative, resourcefulness, and ability to adapt to change.  You will have excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills and be able to work independently using sound judgement.


A certificate in adult education and experience in graphic recording are considered assets.

Pay Grade:  PR 13  

Salary Range:  $2,556.10 - $3,107.16 Bi-Weekly
