About Our Opportunity

We have four (4) opportunities available for Regional Service Delivery Managers. Positions are located in Port Hawkesbury, Antigonish, Truro, and Windsor.


Reporting to the Director, Regional Service Delivery, the Manager, Regional Service Delivery is accountable for the effective operational, management, planning and delivery of social programs that provide support to Nova Scotians using modern service models that ensure exceptional and cost effective client service.


Primary Accountabilities

As the Manager, you will ensure quality client service delivery to the broad range of clients served by the many programs delivered by the office(s) such as Child Welfare, Income Assistance, Employment Support Services, Eligibility Review and Family Maintenance Support, Disability Support Program, Adoption and Foster Care Resources, and Prevention programs.  Services will be delivered in a manner that promotes self-reliance and builds independence, and in a manner that is effective, efficient, integrated, and sustainable.  You will ensure that the risks to vulnerable Nova Scotians are minimized, while managing modern and innovative service offerings to vulnerable client groups.


Qualifications and Experience

You have a university degree in social sciences or management, with several years of successful leadership and experience at a supervisory/managerial level in the delivery of social service programs.

Experience in the Employment Support and Income Assistance, Child Welfare and Disability Support Programs would be considered an asset. The ability to work well under pressure, to lead teams and enlist the enthusiastic involvement of staff in problem solving and delivery of quality services to clients is essential to this position. You will also possess excellent verbal and written communication skills as you will be in continual contact with other departments, community service delivery agencies and related organizations.

The leadership competencies required at this level of work are: Analytical Thinking, Action Management, Effective Interactive Communication, Initiative, Intercultural Diversity Proficiency, Partnering & Relationship Building. We will assess the above qualifications and competencies using one or more of the following tools: written examination, standardized tests, oral presentations, interview(s), and reference checks.

Working Conditions

This role is based in a comfortable office environment and you may be working at your computer for extended periods of time. You will be required to drive on a regular basis to visit offices in a geographic area.


Additional Information

As this position involves considerable travel, you must have a valid driver’s licence and have the ability to travel to various work site locations.


Four (4) permanent positions are available. Locations include Port Hawkesbury, Antigonish, Truro, and Windsor.

Pay Grade:  EC 12 

Salary Range:  $3,226.17 - $4,023.23 Bi-Weekly
