About Our Opportunity

 

As a Seasonal Customer Service Representative, Transaction Services, you will complete transactions and provide quality service to our individual and business customers. Working in a front-facing, fast paced, and continuously evolving service delivery environment, you will scrutinize records and process documents, and apply relevant legislation and policy. You will issue primary identity documents such as Driver's Licences and Nova Scotia Identification cards. Other key responsibilities include maintaining security/control of public funds, and issuing and securing control of serial numbered and non-serial numbered inventory. While exercising a high degree of confidentiality, you will accurately enter and retrieve data from automated systems.

 

About You

 

As the ideal candidate, you hold a minimum of four years of experience in a front-facing, fast-paced customer service environment. An equivalent combination of training and experience may be acceptable. In addition, you possess the following:

 

- experience in balancing accounts;

- excellent attention to detail;

- demonstrated ability to diplomatically deal with the general public and to effectively manage difficult client engagements;

- proven data entry and computer skills;

- a high aptitude to acquire, retain, organize and apply policies and procedures;

- demonstrated organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment.

 

The following would be viewed as assets:

 

- knowledge of Service Nova Scotia programs;

- bilingualism (French and English);

- the expertise to scrutinize and reconcile financial information;

- ideally, minimum of one year of experience with cash handling.

 

We will assess the above qualifications and competencies using one or more of the following tools: written examination, standardized tests, oral presentations, interview(s), and reference checks.

 

Other Considerations

 

For this competition, there are multiple seasonal vacancies based in Halifax, Dartmouth and Sackville. The anticipated start date will be mid-March or April 1, 2019 with an anticipated end date of approximately September or October 2019. Successful candidates will be required to participate in training in Dartmouth.

 

 

Pay Grade:  CL 18  

 

Salary Range:  $1,510.00 - $1,689.00 Bi-Weekly

 

This is a bargaining unit position initially restricted to current civil service employees represented by the Nova Scotia Government Employees Union (NSGEU).
