About Our Opportunity
Reporting directly to the Program Manager, the Coordinator of Inspection Services oversees the seamless delivery of inspection services vital to housing repair and adaptation programs. This multifaceted position entails supervising, training, and deploying staff resources, as well as meticulously monitoring and tracking outcomes to establish priorities and meet targets effectively.
Primary Accountabilities
You will have a key role in guaranteeing the effectiveness of inspections, specification preparation, and estimating processes for properties receiving program funding. Offering strategic technical guidance to the Co-op and Non-Profit Housing Sector, you will help lead the administration and management of substantial renovation, repair, and regeneration contracts pertaining to Department-owned properties.
Qualifications and Experience
You have completed post-secondary education in a related field and several years' experience in a technical area relevant to the demands of this role, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Proficiency in interpreting and applying the National Building Code as well as related technical codes and standards is a must. You must have an in-depth understanding of residential construction practices and wood frame building technology.
You also demonstrate:
- Proven organizational skills, exceptional communication abilities, problem-solving aptitude, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to effectively manage human resources, including setting and assessing staff performance objectives, fostering teamwork, and promoting a collaborative work environment.
- Proficiency in project management, technical specification drafting, and contract administration.
- Thorough understanding of occupational health and safety standards in construction settings.
- Dedication to providing high-quality customer service, along with a track record of successfully collaborating with stakeholders.
- Familiarity with software applications such as Microsoft Office.
It is considered an asset if you:
- Have previous management experience or PMP certification,
- Are familiar with job cost estimating,
- Have a Red Seal Endorsement for a provincial or territorial certificate of qualification.

Working Conditions
This position required you to work on-site. Work is generally performed in an office environment. Occasionally, you may need to move or lift objects such as boxes or files. You may be exposed to emotionally charged situations during the collection process. Travel is required for this position, and a valid driver's license and the ability to travel are necessary.

Pay Grade: EC 10
Salary Range: $3,108.16 - $3,885.22 Bi-Weekly
