About Our Opportunity

 

The Provincial Wildlife Park is looking for Visitor Experience Clerks to primarily take admissions and provide information about the Park and the surrounding area.

Primary Accountabilities

 

As the first staff member to interact with the visiting public you will set the tone for their visit. You will have an opportunity to showcase your excellent customer service skills and problem-solving skills in determining best approaches to deal with difficult customers, unexpected groups and incorrect bookings. You will be responsible for balancing and depositing all revenues. The clerk is also responsible for cleaning and maintaining the admissions office, and from time-to-time public washroom, and other park areas.  This could include weather related activities, like shovelling, sanding, or sweeping.

 

This position reports to the Visitor Experience Supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience

 

To be successful in this role you will have graduated grade 12, be proficient in math and basic accounting, with a good understanding of working with cash (balancing, giving correct change, deposit slips, etc.), operating a cash register, and point of sales (POS) system.

 

Your strong organizational skills and ability to be detail oriented will be required. You will have excellent customer service and communication skills and be able to problem solve quickly and efferently.

 

The shifts for this position vary, but typically are 7-10 hours long and can be very demanding. You will be required to work with limited or no supervision and must therefore be able to determine priorities effectively.  You will be working mostly in a small office.  You may be required to stand for long periods of time.

 

A good understanding of park directives, Occupational Health and Safety regulations and other Department Acts and Regulations will be considered an asset.

 

We will assess the above qualifications and competencies using one or more of the following tools: written examination, standardized tests, oral presentations, interview(s), and reference checks.

Pay Grade:  CL 05 - CL 09  

Salary Range:  $1,274.56 - $1,501.11 Bi-Weekly
