About Our Opportunity


The Records Clerk performs assignments of intermediate complexity as it relates to depth of analysis, use of independent judgement, and a sound knowledge of procedures, rules, acts, and regulations.  The Clerk performs duties involving a range of clerical tasks associated within a specific function (e.g., records management).


This position reports to the Director and Manager.

Primary Accountabilities


  • Reviews data for completeness and accuracy. Receives, classifies, reconciles, consolidates, and/or summarizes documents and information.
  • Maintains record of documents processed and controls to assure completion. Maintains filing system in accordance with government records management policy.
  • Compiles regular and special reports, following established formats and procedures for records disposition. Prepares ad hoc reports from computer systems (ie MS Access). Collates and/or extracts data and produces routine reports, schedules, summaries and letters to clients/customers/members of the work group.
  • Performs data entry using both MS Excel and MS Access database(s).

Qualifications and Experience


Three (3) years' related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be acceptable.


Demonstrated skills using emailing systems, word processing, and spreadsheets (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite) are required, as well as experience with databases and filing/retrieval systems.


You will demonstrate the ability to work independently in a busy, challenging environment, exercising sound judgement around issues requiring a high degree of confidentiality and a commitment to excellence in client service.  You will have excellent organizational, time management and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to multi-task to meet priorities and deadlines.  The abilities to effectively respond to high volumes of work and function with minimum supervision are key in this role, and you also demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills including high proficiency in typing and proofreading.


Knowledge of the Departments records management program, records management procedures, records management legislative requirements, and STAR/STOR are considered an asset.

Pay Grade:  CL 13  

Salary Range:  $1,450.14 - $1,578.47 Bi-Weekly
