The Department of Agriculture is partnering with several Provincial Departments in the Colchester area to offer Summer Student Positions under our Black Youth Planting Their Future Program (BYPTF). What You Will Do


The BYPTF Student Coordinator is a designated position for African Nova Scotia students that will act as a leader and work with the BYPTF team to coordinate the day-to-day operation and administration of the program. The coordinator will assist with the planning and implementation of the student’s summer activities, provide community outreach as needed, and be a point of contact for our students. They will develop and maintain a communication plan for students and their supervisors to ensure the sharing of timely information and relevant program updates. The coordinator will ensure students attend summer teambuilding, community outreach and learning opportunities. The coordinator will arrange regular meetings with the BYPTF students to ensure all summer employment supports are in place and assist where needed.

About You


To be considered for this position you must be currently enrolled as a student and returning to school in the fall (or in the next applicable semester for the education program). Preference will be given to returning BYPTF students and/or who have related education and work experience. Good communication skills are required. Must have strong communication and organizational skills and be able to work independently.

Pay Grade:  HOURLY 

Salary Range:  $15.73 - $29.69 Hourly
