About Us
Elections Nova Scotia is an independent, non-partisan agency that is responsible for the administration of the Elections Act. Its mandate is to conduct provincial general elections and by-elections; ensure compliance with provincial electoral law including the political financing regime; establish and maintain election-related information including the Nova Scotia Register of Electors and electoral geography and spatial distribution of electorate base. Elections Nova Scotia is also mandated to provide support to the independent electoral boundaries commission charged with reviewing the boundaries of provincial electoral districts.
About Our Opportunity
The Manager of Election Planning and Services serves as a pivotal member of the leadership team, responsible for overseeing a comprehensive portfolio of election readiness initiatives. This role directs a dedicated team in the implementation and execution of critical projects, ensuring Elections Nova Scotia remains prepared to deliver seamless by-elections and provincial general elections.
Primary Accountabilities
- Provide strategic leadership for program delivery, project execution, and enterprise risk management.
- Oversee project planning, budgeting, resource allocation, and performance to ensure operational excellence and successful outcomes.
- Lead business process optimization initiatives to enhance efficiency, consistency, compliance, and service delivery.
- Champion organizational change management strategies that support the adoption of new processes, systems, and technologies.
- Direct large-scale logistics operations, including vendor management, distribution planning, and business continuity measures.
- Lead procurement and sourcing activities, including RFP development, vendor evaluation, contract administration, and policy compliance.
Qualifications and Experience
As the ideal candidate for this position, you will have a bachelor’s degree, plus several years of progressive and relevant experience. To be successful in this role, you possess:

- Strong relationship building skills
- Demonstrated experience managing:
- Independent projects and programs of projects
- Engagement with internal and/or external stakeholders
- Excellent writing, organization, and planning skills
- Highly organized, confident communicator and presenter
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to work under pressure
- Experience within government, specifically leading the development of recommendations and briefings to support key decision making, for senior leadership is considered an asset.
In addition to the above, you will also have excellent interpersonal skills and poses a high level of competence in both written and verbal communication. You have excellent judgement, a high degree of professionalism and integrity along with respect for discretion and confidentially of information as required. You must be able to effectively respond to high volumes of work.

Pay Grade: EC 10
Salary Range: $3,247.28 - $4,059.12 Bi-Weekly
