About Our Opportunity
Reporting to the Manager of Risk and Insurance, this position is responsible for managing complex third party insurance claims including but not limited to bodily injury, property, environmental, aviation, marine and crime/fidelity. The incumbent will be expected to be the main point of contact for external investigations and travel frequently throughout the Province. Additionally, the incumbent shall liaise with the Department of Justice as necessary.
Primary Accountabilities
- Engage in scope work, evidence preservation, as well as diagram measurements and drawings of claim scenes for investigation purposes.
- Respond to requests for information, particularly regarding claim dispute resolutions, in addition to attending legal proceedings and mediation hearings to provide claims advice or evidence.
- Remain up to date with all legislation and professional standards as it relates to claims, insurance and risk management;
- Keep abreast of trends and practices while leveraging an in-depth knowledge of the Public Highways Act, Insurance Act and Occupiers Liability Act as it is essential for the adjudication of the insurance claims.
Qualifications and Experience
To be considered for this opportunity, you hold a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field such as business administration, and hold five (5) years of related experience as a multiline field adjuster. An equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered.
In addition, you:
- Demonstrate sound judgement, impartiality and solid decision making skills
- Have creative problem-solving skills when investigating and identifying cause and effects of accidents and incidents
- Possess effective negotiation skills while communicating with stakeholders in regard to the settlement of claims
- Hold superior communication skills when collaborating with internal and external parties
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and a strong teamwork ethic
- Show initiative and work proactively to advance your work
The following would be considered an asset:
- Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation
- Canadian Risk Management (CRM) designation
- Accreditation in scoping and/or Xactimate

Additional Information
This is a term, full-time position with a projected end date of Jan, 2027.
The position will be expected, when necessary, to respond on a 24/7 basis throughout the Province.

Pay Grade: PR 13
Salary Range: $2,556.10 - $3,107.16 Bi-Weekly
