About Our Opportunity
Under the direction of the Manager of Insurance and Risk Management, the Enterprise Risk Analyst is responsible for assisting in the overall risk management and loss prevention strategy for the Province, and various Agencies, Boards, and Commissions.
The successful candidate will identify and assess strategic and operational risks to recommend loss protection programs to mitigate exposures. This includes:
· Managing the insurance policies and self-insurance programs for the province, ensuring adequate limits and coverages
· Liaising with insurance brokers on renewals and endorsements
· Preparing insurance certificates for coverage adequacy and advising on contractual wordings related to public tenders
· Conducting research and analysis on claims history to provide advice for ongoing risk mitigation
Qualifications and Experience
The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field with a minimum of five years of related experience, or a master’s degree in business administration or a related field and three years of related experience.
The successful candidate must have, or be in the process of obtaining, a Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) or Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker (CAIB) or Canadian Risk Management (CRM) designation. Must have and maintain a valid class 5 driver’s license. At the cost of the Crown, the incumbent shall submit a satisfactory criminal record check and current driver’s abstract before hire.
Innovative solutions are required when providing solutions to risk exposures. The successful proponent shall remain current with all industry, legislative, and legal standards and trends as it relates to insurance and risk management and have an in-depth knowledge of the Public Highways Act and the Insurance Act. The incumbent shall possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, a strong teamwork ethic, and show initiative.
We will assess the above qualifications and competencies using one or more of the following tools: written examination, standardized tests, oral presentations, interview(s), and reference checks.

Working Conditions
Normal work week is 35 hours/week, 7 hours/day.
May be required to work overtime on occasion.
Additional Information
This is a 2-year (approximately) TERM employment opportunity. The appointment status (‘term’, ‘temporary’ or ‘casual’) is dependent on the start date of the successful candidate and the overall duration of the position, in alignment with the timelines outlined in the collective agreement.

Pay Grade: PR 13
Salary Range: $2,805.63 - $3,410.48 Bi-Weekly
