About Our Opportunity
Are you a skilled developer looking to make a meaningful impact through public service? Join our team as an Intermediate .NET Developer, where you will contribute to the development and support of a large-scale, custom-built application that helps deliver essential services to citizens. You will work in a collaborative, agile environment alongside experienced professionals, with opportunities to grow your technical skills and contribute to high-impact projects.
The successful candidate will collaborate with other developers on the team to support a large custom developed .NET application using primarily ASP.NET and Oracle PL/SQL. They will also contribute to regularly scheduled projects that will enhance and expand capabilities and services that align with business needs and government standards.
Primary Accountabilities
- Develop and maintain components of a major government application using ASP.NET and Oracle PL/SQL.
- Participate in agile development cycles to enhance system functionality and improve user experience.
- Collaborate with senior developers, product managers, and stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver effective solutions.
- Write secure, maintainable, and high-quality code, tests, and documentation.
- Support production operations and troubleshoot issues to ensure system reliability.
- Contribute to data migration, conversion, and extraction tasks using SQL.
- Assist in implementing API integrations with other government systems.
- Participate in code reviews and design discussions to improve solution quality.
- Learn and apply government standards for security, accessibility, and performance.
- Engage in continuous improvement and knowledge sharing within the team.
Qualifications and Experience
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology and a minimum of three (3) years of related experience.
OR - Graduation from a recognized Information Technology program and a minimum of three and a half (3.5) years of related experience.
OR - An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Technical Skills:
- Proficient in .NET, ASP.NET, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, JSON, and Razor Pages (ASP.NET Core).
- Experience with relational databases such as Oracle or Microsoft SQL, and PL/SQL or T-SQL.
- Solid understanding of object-oriented principles, design patterns, and responsive UI/UX design.
- Familiarity with microservices, REST/SOAP APIs, and integration architectures.
- Exposure to tools like Ansible, SonarQube, Jenkins, Bamboo.
- Experience working in Agile environments using tools like Azure DevOps, JIRA, GitHub, GitLab.
Core Competencies:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills (written and verbal).
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
- Strong attention to detail and adaptability to changing priorities.
- Effective time management and ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
- Comfortable working remotely using Microsoft 365, Teams, Skype, Zoom, and other collaboration tools.

This is a TERM employment opportunity with anticipated end date of April 1, 2027. The appointment status (‘term’, ‘temporary’ or ‘casual’) is dependent on the start date of the successful candidate.

Pay Grade: PR 14
Salary Range: $2,855.81 - $3,477.51 Bi-Weekly
