As part of SNS, the Integrated Innovation and Strategy Operations (IISO) unit includes the Outpost for Public Sector Innovation (OPIN), King’s Printer and Postal Services, Enterprise Records Management, and Government Services Policy.  

About Our Opportunity

 

The Outpost for Public Sector Innovation has a team of multidisciplinary professionals that work across departments to address complex problems using innovative tools and approaches. We are looking for a Project Coordinator to join a small, dynamic team of intrapreneurs to support multiple projects and related processes and activities that require an innovative approach and have an impact across the public service. With guidance from the broader IISO team, the incumbent will leverage a variety of emerging innovative methods to gather research, engage clients and partners, and visually represent data.

 

This two-year internship offers challenging, satisfying, and growth opportunities while working within a high performing team. You will be supported and trained through your development.

Key Responsibilities

 

·         Assists in managing projects and initiatives based on portfolio needs, including managing the agenda, planning, research, implementation, scheduling and organization of a broad range of activities.

·         Facilitates connections across the public service, leads project meetings and information gathering with partners and stakeholders.

·         Designs and leads workshops and activities within the larger portfolio of projects using innovative methods and approaches.

·         Coordinates and prepares documentation, meeting minutes, communications, agendas, and reports for approval.

·         Conducts analysis on data and information. When needed, can take data and represent it in a variety of visual formats to tell a compelling story.

·         Tracks, monitors and reports on research project timelines and deliverables.

Qualifications and Experience

 

As the successful candidate you must have graduated within the past three years from a university with an undergraduate/graduate degree. You work well both independently and as part of a high-performance team. You flourish in working within a fun environment that celebrates inclusion, diversity, equity, and accessibility.

 

You also possess the following:

  • Strong research and analytical skills
  • Strong attention to detail, prioritization and organizational skills with the ability to combine speed and accuracy while under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A curious mind and desire for continuous learning

 

The following will be considered strong assets:

  • Experience in facilitation, training, leading workshops, etc.
  • Knowledge of and/or experience in design thinking, human centred design, lean six sigma.

 

We will assess the above qualifications and competencies using one or more of the following tools: written examination, previous work, standardized tests, oral presentations, interview(s), and reference checks.

Additional Information

 

This is a 2-year internship for candidates who have graduated from undergraduate or graduate studies within the last 3 years. The projected start date is in August 2025. 

Working Conditions

 

·         Standard work week is 35 hours/week, 7 hours/day

·         Department Specific Flexible working schedules.

     

Pay Grade:  PR 06 

Salary Range:  $2,004.96 - $2,084.99 Bi-Weekly
