About Us
The Court Services Division of the Nova Scotia Department of Justice is dedicated to excellent service and the provision of fair and accessible administration of justice, including court administration and security. The Division provides administrative support to the courts listed: Nova Scotia Court of Appeal, Supreme Court of Nova Scotia (including Family Division), Provincial Court, Family Court, Small Claims Court, Probate Court and Bankruptcy Court. The courts act independently from the government to address individual cases.
About Our Opportunity
As the Manager, Operations and Projects (Family) you are responsible for providing project and program planning support, in particular for the Administrative Recalculation of Child Support Program. In addition, you evaluate, direct, analyze, and coordinate multiple family justice projects.
Primary Accountabilities
- Develop and administer policies related to Family Justice programs and services.
- Manage the Administrative Recalculation of Child Support Program and multiple projects for the Division within the Unified Family Court.
- Conduct reporting for the Administrative Recalculation of Child Support Program and assist the Director with further reporting as necessary.
- Promote project delivery project in collaboration with stakeholders, and fiscal and records management.
- Monitor activities/initiatives to ensure compliance with operational guidelines, policies and legislation.
- Provide leadership and subject-matter expertise to members of the Court Services Management Team and other divisional staff.
Qualifications and Experience
To be considered for this opportunity, you possess a Bachelors degree in a related discipline in addition to several years of family justice experience. An equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered.
As the successful candidate, you have experience in project management within a client-focused organization. You also have experience analyzing and interpreting rules and statutes governing family justice policies and programs.
You are proficient with Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. You are analytical, self-directed and offer innovative solutions to issues/problems. Furthermore, you are effective at managing, organizing, and prioritizing your work, while meeting deadlines. Lastly, you possess strong communication, and interpersonal skills which allow you to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
Leadership competencies required at this level of work are: Analytical Thinking, Adaptability and, Flexibility, Attention to Detail, Outcome Focus, Effective Interactive Communication, Teamwork and Collaboration, and Intercultural and Diversity Proficiency.
We will assess the above qualifications and competencies using one or more of the following tools: written examination, standardized tests, oral presentations, interview(s), and reference checks.

This is a term opportunity based in Halifax with a projected end date of December 31, 2026.

Pay Grade: EC 08
Salary Range: $2,518.36 - $3,147.95 Bi-Weekly
