The Executive Council Office (ECO) provides central leadership to achieve government priorities and support for executive leadership. We support the Office of the Premier, Executive Council (Cabinet) and its committees by providing strategic policy, legislative, communications and labour relations advice to support decision-making and priority setting.

ECO’s Corporate Services team provides critical operational, administrative, financial, technology, and information management support to ECO and the Premier’s Office in a fast paced and highly confidential environment.

About Our Opportunity

 

Reporting to the Manager of Corporate Services, the Senior Corporate Services Coordinator provides senior level administrative and operational leadership in support of the Executive Council Office and the Premier’s Office.

This role acts as the primary point of contact for Corporate Services Coordinators, providing day-to-day guidance, troubleshooting support, and oversight of key corporate service functions. The Senior Coordinator plays an important role in ensuring responsive, high quality service delivery while contributing to the ongoing modernization and improvement of systems, processes, and tools.

This position requires sound judgment, discretion, and the ability to manage competing priorities while supporting senior officials, Ministers, and executive staff.

Primary Accountabilities

 

As Senior Corporate Services Coordinator, you will support the effective operation of the Executive Council Office and Premier’s Office by:

  • Providing Operational Supervision: Coordinate day-to-day corporate services functions, serving as the primary point of contact and mentor for Corporate Services Coordinators to ensure timely, accurate, and responsive service delivery.
  • Ensuring Service Excellence: Oversee records management, technology coordination, and corporate services and administrative processes to ensure commitments are met, standards are maintained, and senior officials receive high-quality support in a confidential environment.
  • Coordinating Technology & Workplace Operations: Act as the central coordinator for staff technology, equipment, building access, and office logistics, ensuring continuity of operations and effective issue resolution.
  • Supporting Financial & Administrative Integrity: Coordinate key administrative and financial functions, including Gift Bank operations and ministerial expense reporting, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and compliance with corporate and public reporting requirements.
  • Advancing Systems & Process Improvement: Partner with leadership to modernize systems, tools, and workflows; document procedures; deliver training; and support change implementation that strengthens efficiency, consistency, and risk management.

Qualifications and Experience

 

You will have several years of progressively responsible experience in a senior administrative, corporate services, or operational support role, and have completed a related degree or diploma in Business or Office Administration.

You bring:

  • Demonstrated experience coordinating administrative, financial, or operational services.
  • Strong knowledge of records management, office procedures, and information systems.
  • Experience working with technology service requests and liaising with IT support providers.
  • Well-developed organizational, written and oral communication skills, and problem solving skills and able to manage competing priorities
  • Proven ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion when handling confidential information.

Experience supporting senior leadership, executives, or elected officials in a government or similarly complex organization is considered an asset.

Working Conditions

 

This position is based in a comfortable office environment in Halifax. Standard hours of work are 35 hours/week from Monday to Friday.

Pay Grade:  EC 08 

Salary Range:  $2,683.70 - $3,354.62 Bi-Weekly
