About Our Opportunity
Reporting to Regional Manager, Citizen Services - Valley, this position provides administrative support and office management for the regional offices. The Secretary must be resourceful, organized, detail oriented and have the ability to communicate effectively when dealing with inquiries from senior departmental staff, other provincial government departments, taxpayers and the public. In addition:
- You will assess and assign priority to mail and e-mail, redirecting and/or answering as appropriate.
- You will identify urgent items for the attention of the Manager or others as well as develop and prepare professional presentations, correspondence and reports on behalf of the Manager.
- You will assist team members with payroll and time entry and provide support to the team regarding SAP related functions.
- You will assist the Manager in ordering supplies and equipment following procurement policies and standing offers, including invoice submission to Transaction Services for payment.
- You will prepare agendas, minutes and note taking and general secretarial support to committees and team members falling within the responsibilities of the Manager as well as staff of the section.
- You will provide project tracking to various divisional initiatives.
Qualifications and Experience
To be considered for this opportunity, you have completed a 1-year business course and have 3 years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience may be acceptable.
In this position, you will work autonomously in the completion of tasks. In addition:
- You have initiative and good judgement in planning work according to priorities and deadlines.
- You are very organized with excellent time management skills.
- You possess excellent grammar, proofreading, editing, and secretarial skills.
- You have demonstrated proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook and web-based sharing software such as SharePoint.
- Knowledge of Government procurement processes, record retention and SAP program would be considered assets.
We will assess the above qualifications and competencies using one or more of the following tools: written examination, standardized tests, oral presentations, interview(s), and reference checks.

Pay Grade: CL 18
Salary Range: $1,684.00 - $1,884.17 Bi-Weekly
